It's always hard to see a show come down when you've been living with it for months, so my solution was to have a closing party for the Glimpse Exhibition. I wanted to honor the photographers represented in the show and 6 of them--Pam Pecchio, David Hilliard, Burk Uzzle, Lisa McCarty, MJ Sharp, and Elizabeth Matheson were on hand to celebrate in person. I asked Pam and David if they would give a joint artist talk about their current work. What I didn't know when I asked them was that Pam was David's teaching assistant at Yale where they both got their MFA and that they hadn't seen each other in 15 years!! It was a wonderful reunion.
The room was thick with photographers!
David talked about his early influences
and spoke at length about working with his Dad and their relationship.
Pam introduced a new body of work involving photographing, printing, cutting, collaging, and then rephotographing.
Joni started to dip into the vino.
