Decked Out

At the end of the week they finished up the floor framing and started in on the decking on both pods.  You can see here additional blocking in the entry and bathroom area where we will have ceramic tile.  The are using Advantec for the decking--they tell me it is far superior to conventional plywood.

Ellen's office made a field trip out to the site.   It is great for all of them to see the site when they have been staring at these drawings for years and they hear so much about it at the office. Left to right are Erica, Ellen, Jessica, Sasha, Keith, and Esther.  I also had a visit from my friend Christina and her son Luca. Luca was mightily impressed with all of the construction.  We took a walk down to the water where we have a swing that used to belong to my parents.   We had a seriously steep climb back up. The house looks so beautiful from below. I was sad to see the basement go dark when they put the decking down but I am also excited about the progress.  They start to go vertical on Monday and we will be out of town all week so we should see lots of progress on our return.
